IT has a crucial position within Colruyt Group. Therefore, the maintenance and extension of our systems is important. You and your colleagues deliver and manage our more than 3,000 Linux servers. Challenge your knowledge in an international job with impact! Colruyt Group's Linux team is an international collaboration: from our engineers in Belgium to the colleagues in our offices in Hyderabad, India. Your focus as a system engineer is on optimisation projects for the further extension of our server park, together with your colleagues in India. You also work together closely with system engineers who specialise in application servers, databases, network etc. Expect enriching contacts!
What will you do concretely?
- You build and maintain the framework and procedures to install and configure servers (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) with Puppet, Ansible and RPMs.
- You have affinity with security management (AD integration, SELinux, Microsoft Defender, auditd etc.).
- You take care of automation with scripts in Bash and Python, Gitlab CI , and Ansible playbooks. You are also (co-)responsible for the governance of the tools used for automation.
- You take ownership of the documentation and procedures for the systems assigned to you.
- You are part of the on-call service.
- You proactively reflect on optimisations that help our team to deliver an even better service.
And of course, you also initiate, define, realise and implement your own projects. A few examples of recently realised projects:
- Optimisation of ILM processes for the delivery of Linux servers.
- Introduction of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.
- Framework and procedures for in-place upgrades of RHEL major releases.
- Introduction of Microsoft Defender
- Introduction of Red Hat Satellite & Ansible Automation Platform for Edge servers.
You can work from our office in Zwijnaarde or Haasrode, and you have the option to work from home three days a week.
