As a Mechatronics & Electronics Engineer within Technics (Industrial Automation), you will be responsible for the development, integration, validation, and continuous improvement of electrical, electronic, and mechatronic systems used in automation, robotics, logistics, and industrial solutions across the Colruyt Group. You will work closely with software engineers, automation specialists, suppliers, and operations teams to deliver reliable and innovative technical solutions from concept through deployment and support.
Your tasks as a Mechatronics & Electronics Engineer:
- Design, develop, and validate electrical and electronic systems, including control cabinets, power distribution systems, sensors, actuators, embedded devices, and industrial equipment.
- Define technical specifications and select suitable electronic, electrical, and mechatronic components based on performance, reliability, safety, maintainability, and cost requirements.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to electronics, power systems, communication networks, sensors, motors, drives, controllers, and industrial automation equipment.
- Perform root cause analyses on hardware, electrical, and system failures, define corrective actions, and follow up on implementation.
- Collaborate with suppliers and partners to evaluate new technologies, review technical solutions, validate prototypes, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Support the integration of industrial equipment, embedded systems, automation solutions, vision systems, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Work closely with software, PLC, robotics, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, system architectures, test procedures, technical reports, installation manuals, and risk analyses.
You work in Halle or Haasrode and can work from home up to 2 days a week. Depending on your project, you need to be flexible regarding work location.
Profil
- Knowledge and experience: Master’s degree in a related field. Experience with electronics, electrical systems/schematics, industrial automation, mechatronic system integration, troubleshooting, embedded systems, sensors, actuators, motion control, and industrial communication protocols.
- Sense of Initiative: You take ownership of technical challenges, proactively identify improvement opportunities, and drive them through to implementation.
- Team Player: You work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, building strong collaborations to achieve project objectives.
- Analytical Skills: You can quickly understand complex technical systems, identify root causes, and translate your analysis into practical actions.
- Solution-Oriented: You focus on delivering pragmatic, reliable, and sustainable solutions while balancing technical requirements, quality, safety, and cost.
- Communication Skills: You are fluent in English with a good knowledge of Dutch. You communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
